I start off this work week a little under the weather. Usually at this point, I’m already in the office planning out the day with my team and getting ready for our first patient.
My office manager called to tell me that our first patient cancelled because she herself was sick. So instead of having to start off my day feeling really blah and pushing myself, I was given the option of staying home for an extra hour and take some rest- giving my body more time to heal before I head off to work. So yes, I took that option!
Unfortunately, when working in the health field, it’s very difficult to call out sick last minute because there are people who scheduled appointments weeks in advance to be seen that day- so you make the best of it and do what you can do.
Last night a good friend of mine brought over some essential oils to diffuse so I could sleep better, as well as some chicken broth. I did sleep better and woke up not feeling tired- which felt great. I’m starting off my day with some warm water with honey and a pinch of Himalayan salt. I plan to hydrate, diffuse oils, and replenish nutrients with the chicken broth today- and rest during my lunch break. Hopefully, I get through the day in one piece!
